Law360, New York (June 12, 2012, 4:58 PM ET) -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has had outside attorneys conduct a worldwide assessment of its anti-corruption policies following reports of bribery in its Mexico division, according to a letter congressional Democrats sent Tuesday to the company.
Reps. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., and Henry Waxman, D-Calif., said in the letter that the outside attorneys briefed their staffs in May, and reported they had originally been hired to look at anti-corruption policies and operations in Mexico, China and Brazil.
