Court Continues To Keep Shell Out Of Beaufort Sea

Law360, New York (September 14, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A court order that has stopped Royal Dutch Shell Plc from drilling in Alaska’s Beaufort Sea will remain in effect after an appeals court denied the energy company's motion for a panel or en banc rehearing.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit rejected Shell's request on Thursday, meaning the parties will now submit briefs on the merits of the case. A hearing on the matter has been scheduled for early December.
