Mexican Billionaire Carlos Slim Nabs Argentina Oil Co. Stake

Law360, Chicago (June 15, 2012, 4:55 PM EDT) -- Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim Helu and his family members have purchased an 8.4 percent stake in YPF SA, the recently renationalized Argentinian oil and gas company, according to a Thursday regulatory filing.

In a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing, YPF said that Slim, reportedly the richest person in the world with a net worth of $69 billion, and six members of his clan snapped up 32,908,506 Class D shares of YPF.
