UK Watchdog Hands Truck Cartel Probe To EU

Law360, New York (June 15, 2012, 3:26 PM EDT) -- U.K. antitrust regulators said Friday that they had closed a civil probe into a possible cartel among many of the world's leading truck makers, including Daimler AG and Volvo AB, and would let Europe's competition watchdog take over.

The U.K.'s Office of Fair Trading, which started an investigation in September 2010 into potential price fixing in the truckmaking industry, said it would end its investigation since the European Union's antitrust authority could finish the job.
