China's Steel Trade Remedies Lacked Justification, WTO Finds

Law360, New York (June 15, 2012, 1:58 PM EDT) -- The World Trade Organization ruled Friday that China initiated anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations of American steel products without evidence to justify them, a decision that U.S. trade officials said delivered a sharp rebuke to China's "abusive" trade practices.

The WTO's dispute settlement body found numerous flaws in China's imposition of anti-dumping and countervailing duties on grain-oriented flat-rolled electrical steel from the U.S.
