Ncondezi Coal Adds Power Plant To $376M Mining Project

Law360, New York (June 18, 2012, 4:31 PM EDT) -- Mozambique coal exporter Ncondezi Coal Co. Ltd. is planning to build a 1,800-megawatt coal-fired power plant in multiple phases as part of its $376 million coal mining project in the country's northwest Tete Province, the company said Monday.

The company, which reached a framework agreement with the Mozambique government last month for its namesake Ncondezi Project, announced that it expects to produce at least 300 MW worth of energy from its units by 2017.
