NY High Court Won't Hear Suit Over Dechert Ponzi Loan Advice

Law360, New York (June 18, 2012, 6:51 PM ET) -- New York's highest court has refused to revive Fortress Credit Corp.'s $50 million malpractice suit claiming Dechert LLP advised it to enter into a loan based on forged documents that actually fueled ex-attorney Marc Dreier's Ponzi scheme.

The New York Court of Appeals on June 12 denied Fortress’ motion for leave to appeal an intermediate appeals court’s Nov. 29 decision tossing claims for legal malpractice, breach of duty of care and breach of fiduciary duty.
