FHFA To Unify Tests For Fannie, Other Mortgage Lenders

Law360, New York (June 19, 2012, 4:47 PM EDT) -- The Federal Housing Finance Agency announced plans Tuesday for a new, more comprehensive examination rating system, which would be used to inspect Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, the Federal Home Loan Banks and their fiscal agent.

The proposed new system would replace criteria developed by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight and the Federal Housing Finance Board, which regulated the mortgage lending giants and home loan banks before 2008.
