EPA Won't Regulate Aircraft, Ship Emissions Soon

Law360, New York (June 18, 2012, 8:13 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will not commit to any rulemaking that would control the emission of greenhouse gases from aircraft and ships, it said Thursday, despite environmental groups’ insistence that nonroad vehicles' emissions need to be curbed.

In response to a 2010 lawsuit filed by the Center for Biological Diversity, Friends of the Earth, Oceana and other organizations, the EPA said the process of regulating air and marine vehicles’ emissions would require significant time and resources that it is not currently prepared to expend....
