Sens. Begin Voting On Amendments To $1T Farm Bill

Law360, New York (June 19, 2012, 10:29 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Senate on Tuesday approved six amendments to the farm bill, a nearly $1 trillion bill establishing U.S. agriculture policy, including legislation requiring a study of the efficacy of a food safety insurance program.

The amendment, sponsored by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., would commission a review of insurance policies that would provide protection for food producers impacted by food safety recalls in their industries.
