SK Hynix To Pay $248M For Silicon Valley Flash Chip Maker

Law360, New York (June 20, 2012, 2:45 PM EDT) -- Computer chip maker SK Hynix Inc. will take over Silicon Valley memory-controller specialist Link_A_Media Devices Corp. to flesh out its flash-memory offerings and answer demand triggered by the rise of smartphones and tablet computers, SK Hynix said Tuesday, in a deal reportedly worth $248 million.

A Link_A_Media employee on Wednesday declined to confirm to Law360 the purchase price, which was listed by the Wall Street Journal. An SK Hynix representative was not immediately available for comment.
