Law360, New York (June 20, 2012, 8:34 PM ET) -- Oracle Corp. CEO Larry Ellison has acquired Hawaii's Lanai Island from California-based real estate company Castle & Cooke Inc., Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie announced Wednesday.
Abercrombie said that Ellison, who has a home on Lanai, has acquired Castle & Cooke's 98 percent stake in Lanai for an undisclosed sum. Ellison purchased the island from Castle & Cooke CEO David H. Murdock, a Los Angeles-based real estate mogul who acquired the company in 1985, according to a transfer application filed with Hawaii's Public Utilities Commission.
