Cordis Stent Case May Be Consolidated

Law360, New York (September 18, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Cordis Corp.'s infringement case against Abbott Laboratories over drug-eluting coronary stent patents has been stayed until a judge decides whether Abbott's declaratory judgment suit over the same patents should be consolidated with it.

A magistrate judge issued an order for a stay, to which she said both sides agreed, on Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, bringing a pause to the bitter two-way dispute over patents in the $2 billion stent industry.
