SocGen Trader Appeals Code Theft Verdict In 2nd Circ.

Law360, New York (June 21, 2012, 3:42 PM EDT) -- A former Societe Generale SA trader convicted of stealing trading program code asked the Second Circuit on Thursday to overturn the jury's guilty finding, following up on an ex-Goldman Sachs Group Inc.'s employee's successful challenge to a similar conviction.

Samarth Agrawal is serving a three-year prison sentence on charges of taking code used in a Societe Generale high-frequency trading program. He had allegedly intended to use it at a new job.
