Flushmate Recalls More Than 2 Million Toilet Systems

Law360, New York (June 21, 2012, 11:03 PM EDT) -- The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of 2.3 million Flushmate toilet flushing mechanisms Thursday, claiming the products are prone to burst and already have caused 14 reported injuries.

Thursday's recall targets the Flushmate III Pressure Assist Flushing System, a pressurized plastic tank that is installed inside a ceramic toilet tank, according to the CPSC. The agency noted that it received 304 reports of the product malfunctioning in its announcement.
