GM Recalls 413,000 Chevy Cruzes Over Engine Fire Risk

Law360, New York (June 22, 2012, 10:35 PM EDT) -- General Motors on Friday announced a nationwide recall of model year 2011 and 2012 Chevrolet Cruzes because of a risk of liquids becoming trapped in the engine and causing a fire.

The company recalled 413,418 Cruzes to modify the engine shield under the vehicle in order to prevent liquids from being trapped in the engine compartment. All Cruzes with manual and automatic transmissions built in the U.S. from September 2010 to May 2012 are included in the recall, according to GM.
