Chesapeake Utilities To Double Md. Business With 2 Buys

Law360, New York (June 26, 2012, 2:03 PM EDT) -- Chesapeake Utilities Corp. unveiled plans to expand its operations on Maryland's Eastern Shore nearly twofold by picking up two Energy Equity Partners LP subsidiaries that have a combined 11,500 customers in the region, the natural gas distributor said Tuesday.

Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. The Maryland Public Service Commission and certain local jurisdictions must sign off on the deal, which Chesapeake expects to button up sometime during the fourth quarter of 2012.
