Abbott Again Goes After Sandoz Over Generic Zemplar

Law360, New York (July 2, 2012, 6:46 PM EDT) -- Abbott Laboratories on Friday renewed its efforts to protect its Zemplar kidney disease drug, launching a lawsuit in Delaware federal court in which Sandoz Inc. is once again accused of infringing Abbott's patents by trying to introduce a generic version of the drug.

Abbott and partner Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation allege that Sandoz is infringing a pair of their patents by attempting to bring to market a generic version of Zemplar in capsule form, the third such suit the companies have brought against the generics maker....
