LG Probed Over Patented Circuit Design In LCD TVs

Law360, New York (July 2, 2012, 5:09 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission on Friday said it will look into allegations that LG Electronics Inc. has been importing and selling TVs that infringe a Taiwan-based patent holder's integrated circuit technology.

The ITC said it would launch a probe into a claim that LG's liquid-crystal display television sets were using its patented design for circuit packaging, which allows chips to transmit more electrical signals without generating excessive heat.
