TV Networks Want Dish Ad-Skipping DVR Fight Out Of NY

Law360, New York (July 02, 2012, 9:00 PM ET) -- Television broadcasters that claim Dish Network Corp.'s advertising-free digital video recorder technology violates copyright law told a federal judge Monday that the legal fight belongs in California, not New York.

Dish filed its own declaratory judgment suit in New York to get an improper jump on imminent lawsuits from the networks, their lawyers told U.S. District Judge Laura Taylor Swain at a hearing in Manhattan.
