Pilgrim's Pride Plant Workers Unite In FLSA Suit

Law360, New York (September 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hundreds of Pilgrim's Pride Corp. poultry-packing workers across the U.S. want their wage-and-hour lawsuits consolidated as a collective action against the chicken processing company.

The assembly line employees moved for certification of their cases in a filing Friday to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas—the consolidated home of their six suits.

The plaintiffs are suing Pilgrim's Pride under the Fair Labor Standards Act for refusing to compensate workers in processing plants across the country for time spent donning and doffing safety gear....
