US Challenges Chinese Duties On American Cars

Law360, New York (July 5, 2012, 12:24 PM EDT) -- The Obama administration said Thursday it had filed a challenge with the World Trade Organization to antidumping and countervailing duties that China has imposed on U.S.-made cars.

The office of U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk said it had asked the WTO to eliminate the “unfair duties,” which apply to more than $3 billion in exports of American-produced autos from companies like General Motors Co. and Chrysler Group LLC.
