MasterCard Loses Bid To Disqualify Plaintiffs' Attorney

Law360, New York (September 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A judge ruled Monday that a former Department of Justice lawyer will be allowed to represent plaintiffs in an antitrust case against MasterCard Inc. over its interchange fees, despite his involvement in a federal investigation of the company, and a subsequent civil suit against it.

District Judge John Gleeson of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York overruled MasterCard's objections to a ruling handed down in August 2006 by Magistrate Judge James Orenstein.
