Top Antitrust Counsel To Leave DOJ

Law360, New York (July 10, 2012, 5:05 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice will lose one of its top antitrust officials later this month, an agency spokeswoman told Law360 on Tuesday.

Gene Kimmelman, who serves as the DOJ’s head counsel for competition matters within the agency’s antitrust division, will be departing after more than three years at the regulator, Deputy Director Gina Talamona said. He reportedly will join human rights group Global Partners & Associates, according to the Washington Post.

His last day at the DOJ will be July 20, Talamona said.
