Class Cert. Granted In Georgia-Pacific Chemical Release Suit

Law360, New York (July 11, 2012, 5:55 PM EDT) -- A Georgia state judge last week certified a class of landowners claiming hydrogen sulfide released from a Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products LP plant caused damage to their homes and diminished property values.

Superior Court Judge William E. Woodrum said the potential for more than 100 class members to have common issues in the case, including allegations of the same actions causing harm and the same types of damages sought for each property owner, justified class certification.
