Law360, New York (July 11, 2012, 3:47 PM ET) -- Employers with moral or religious objections would be able to ignore a new law guaranteeing free birth control coverage in workplace health plans under a Republican-backed bill introduced Tuesday in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The Religious Freedom Tax Repeal Act is sponsored by Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., and would prevent the collection of penalties from companies that don’t provide certain women’s preventive health services, including contraception.
