White House Throws Its Weight Behind Biomass Incentives

Law360, Washington (July 11, 2012, 7:41 PM EDT) -- A top White House aide said Wednesday that the Obama administration seeks to encourage continued growth in the biomass energy industry by supporting deployment efforts and calling on Congress to extend renewable energy incentives.

Heather Zichal, an energy and climate change adviser to President Barack Obama, told a conference of biomass industry representatives that the administration was intent on building a “bio-based” economy, with biofuels as a component of the administration’s energy strategy.
