Examining Sequenom Prenatal Testing Patent Litigation

Law360, New York (July 18, 2012, 1:05 PM EDT) -- On July 5, Judge Susan Ilston of the U.S. district court in San Francisco issued a decision denying a motion by Sequenom for a preliminary injunction barring a private company called Ariosa Diagnostics from marketing its noninvasive prenatal test to determine pertinent facts about an unborn fetus, such as whether the fetus has Down syndrome (trisomy 21), Edwards syndrome (trisomy 18) or Patau syndrome (trisomy 13).
