Aetna Gets Data Manager's Contract Complaint Tossed

Law360, New York (July 13, 2012, 8:29 PM ET) -- In a win for Aetna Health Inc., a federal judge in Pennsylvania dismissed a contract dispute between the insurance giant and a data management firm Thursday, ruling that the court lacked jurisdiction to hear the complaint and suggesting the case could be heard in state court.

Medical Reimbursement Data Management filed suit against Aetna in April, claiming the insurer breached a confidentiality agreement by independently implementing new billing and reimbursement procedures developed by the company during an audit it was hired by Aetna to conduct. The...
