Judge Won't Toss Suit Seeking Info On ACA's Drafting

Law360, New York (July 16, 2012, 1:42 PM EDT) -- A Washington federal judge on Friday refused to toss a suit by the conservative watchdog group Freedom Watch Inc. seeking information on meetings held by the Obama administration as it drafted the health care reform law, recently upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court.

U.S. District Judge Richard Roberts said that the White House's declaration that it met with several health care stakeholders during the crafting of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is not sufficient to support a summary judgment motion to dismiss the suit,...
