Duke CEO To Discuss Progress Merger With Fla. Utility Panel

Law360, New York (July 17, 2012, 8:17 PM EDT) -- Duke Energy Corp. CEO Jim Rogers agreed Tuesday to testify before the Florida Public Service Commission on how the company's recent $26 billion merger with Progress Energy Inc. will affect consumers in the state.

Rogers is scheduled to appear before the commission on Aug. 13 to discuss "all items" connected to the merger, including the company's plans to bill customers for two future nuclear power projects in the state, a Duke spokesman told Law360.
