GOP Spending Bill Looks To Cut Off ACA Funding

Law360, New York (July 17, 2012, 5:54 PM EDT) -- House Republicans on Tuesday unveiled a spending bill that slashes $6.3 billion in labor, employment and health care funding and attempts to defund the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which was recently upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Republican-controlled House Appropriations Committee released a draft of its 2013 Labor, Health and Human Services funding bill, which proposes a spending level $8.8 billion below the level requested by President Barack Obama, setting up a battle with both the White House and the Democratic-controlled Senate....
