Bergdorf Goodman Workers Urge NLRB To Uphold Small Union

Law360, New York (July 19, 2012, 6:13 PM EDT) -- A group of shoe salespeople at luxury retailer Bergdorf Goodman Inc.'s Manhattan store on Wednesday urged the National Labor Relations Board to disregard dire predictions from business lobbying groups and affirm their right to form a small, department-specific union.

Firing back at claims from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other business groups that allowing smaller bargaining units would be "troubling and expansive," the 35-person union said federal labor law requires bargaining units to be “appropriate” for the workers, not convenient for the employer.
