DOT To Dole Out $787M In Grants For Transit Projects

Law360, New York (July 23, 2012, 5:14 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation will release $787 million in a third round of federal funding for 255 transit projects across the nation, the agency announced Monday.

Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood said the funding is designed to help state and municipal authorities modernize and replace aging or decrepit transit facilities and services. The projects are located in 48 states as well as the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, according to the DOT.
