Judge Denies RIM's Request For Stay Of Visto Case

Law360, New York (October 1, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Visto Corp.'s patent case against Research In Motion Ltd. over push-e-mail will go on, after a federal judge denied the Blackberry maker's request to stay the suit while Visto's patents are reexamined by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.

RIM asked the court to stay litigation in February, arguing that since the four patents being litigated in the case were under reexamination, there was a chance that the reexaminations could eliminate the need for litigation.
