Vegas Promoter Barred From Using 'The Platters' For Now

Law360, New York (July 25, 2012, 2:18 PM EDT) -- A Nevada federal judge on Wednesday barred a Las Vegas concert promoter from calling one of his casino musical acts “The Platters” pending a court decision as to whether the show infringes the famed band's trademark rights.

In granting Herb Reed Enterprises LLC's request for a preliminary injunction against Florida Entertainment Management Inc, U.S. District Judge Miranda M. Du rejected the argument that any additional harm caused by the decade-old show would be marginal.
