Judge Bars Punitive Damages In Michelman Malpractice Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (July 26, 2012, 7:32 PM EDT) -- A California state judge on Thursday limited Michelman & Robinson LLP's potential liability in a malpractice suit alleging the firm overcharged a former client who sought to recover benefits on a $2 million life insurance policy.

Judge Ernest M. Hiroshige struck a request for punitive damages by plaintiff Ryan Langdon, who sued the firm in January 2011 for professional negligence and breach of fiduciary duty.
