NJ Town Escapes Affordable Housing Suit

Law360, New York (July 27, 2012, 9:56 PM EDT) -- A New Jersey judge on Friday dismissed a housing organization's suit accusing Fort Lee, N.J., of dodging its affordable housing obligations in approving the development of 900 residential units, ruling his court wasn't the appropriate venue.

Bergen County Superior Court Judge Menelaos W. Toskos dismissed the suit brought by the Fair Share Housing Center without prejudice and referred the group's allegations against Fort Lee, its planning board and developer Fort Lee Redevelopment Associates LLC to the state Council on Affordable Housing.
