Tribunal Tells Argentina To Pay $172M To Energy Co.

Law360, New York (October 2, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- California-based Sempra Energy won a $172 million arbitration claim against the government of Argentina in a dispute linked to the country's economic crisis.

The award, announced Tuesday by King & Spalding LLP and Sempra and granted on Friday, is one of the largest ever granted by the Washington-based International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, an organization of the World Bank Group.
