Law360, New York (July 30, 2012, 10:51 PM ET) -- An Alaska federal judge on Monday denied environmentalists' challenge to Shell Gulf of Mexico Inc.'s suit seeking to protect National Marine Fisheries Service approvals for Arctic offshore drilling from anticipated opposition by the green groups.
U.S. District Judge Ralph R. Beistline rejected the argument by the Center for Biological Diversity Inc., World Wildlife Fund Inc. and roughly a dozen other environmental groups that the court lacks jurisdiction, reiterating his June 26 ruling in a similar suit by Shell to protect its Alaskan oil exploration activities....
