Judge Won't Bow Out Of Alma Mater's Postgrad Job Row

Law360, New York (August 02, 2012, 5:27 PM ET) -- A New York judge who graduated from Brooklyn Law School declined on Wednesday to recuse himself from a proposed class action accusing the school of recruiting applicants through fraudulently inflated post-graduation employment data.

Justice David Schmidt said in a hearing that he no longer has any real, concrete ties with the school from which he graduated 30 years ago, and therefore has no problem presiding over a suit brought by school alumni who claim they have not received a fair return on the tens of thousands...
