Wind Tax Credit Extension Blows Through Senate Panel

Law360, New York (August 2, 2012, 6:48 PM EDT) -- The Senate Finance Committee voted Thursday to extend a tax incentive for wind energy production, raising hopes that the popular measure will win approval from both chambers of Congress before it expires at the end of the year.

In a 19-2 vote, the committee approved a one-year reauthorization of the production tax credit for wind energy as part of a broader legislative package that included dozens of tax breaks that are on the chopping block.
