ITC Will Review Ruling In Polyimide Film Patent Dispute

Law360, New York (August 6, 2012, 7:40 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission decided Thursday to review and partially vacate a final initial ruling that found no infringement by SKC Kolon PI Inc. of four polyimide film patents belonging to Kaneka Corp.

In May, an ITC administrative law judge handed a win to South Korea-based SKC, finding that an industry does not exist in the U.S. that exploits the patents, as required by 19 U.S. Code 1337(a)(2).
