ITC To Study Economic Impact Of TPP, Canada, Mexico

Law360, New York (August 7, 2012, 2:19 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission announced Tuesday that it would investigate the economic effects of a free trade agreement with the countries involved in the ongoing Trans-Pacific Partnership talks, particularly considering recently added Canada and Mexico.

The ITC said in a statement that it had received a letter July 19 from the U.S. Trade Representative seeking updated guidance on “the probable economic effect” of accepting duty free imports from the TPP countries now that Canada and Mexico have been offered a spot in the trade talks....
