SEC Drops FCPA Probe Of Offshore Driller Hercules

Law360, New York (August 8, 2012, 12:18 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has ended its investigation of Hercules Offshore Inc. over possible violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act without bringing an enforcement action, the oil drilling company said Wednesday.

Houston-based Hercules said in an SEC filing that it had received a letter from the agency Tuesday stating that the investigation was complete, and that no further action would be taken. The probe was first revealed by Hercules in April 2011.
