Age Bias Suit Against Google Gets A Life Line

Law360, New York (October 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A middle-aged man who claims that Google Inc.'s promotion of a youthful, energetic and fast-paced environment discriminates against older employees has been tossed a life line, with a state appeals court reinstating part of his lawsuit against the Internet goliath.

Brian Reid, a one-time director of operations and of engineering at Google, was fired at the age of 54 after allegedly being disparaged by colleagues who called him an “old fuddy-duddy,” “fuzzy” and “lethargic.”
