ITC To Review Ruling On Richtek's Electric Current Patents

Law360, New York (August 10, 2012, 3:27 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission said Thursday that it will review part of an initial finding that held uPI Semiconductor Corp. violated a consent order by importing chips that infringe Richtek Technology Corp.’s patents and trade secrets.

The commission brought the latest enforcement proceeding in September, based on a complaint filed by Richtek alleging uPI is importing direct-current-to-direct-current controllers — also known as DC-DC controllers, which help to convert voltage to make electronics consume less power — using the allegedly infringing integrated-circuit chips into the U.S....
