Iraq Gives Ultimatum To Total After Kurdish Oil Investment

Law360, New York (August 13, 2012, 4:53 PM EDT) -- Iraqi energy officials on Monday reportedly warned French oil giant Total SA that it must freeze or cancel its recent investment in two Kurdish blocks owned by Marathon Oil Co. or risk losing its stake in the Halfaya oil field, a fate that befell ExxonMobil Corp. and Chevron Corp. after they made similar agreements.
