Tokyo Electron To Put Up $252M For FSI International

Law360, New York (August 13, 2012, 2:36 PM EDT) -- Japanese semiconductor manufacturer Tokyo Electron Ltd. has agreed to purchase Minnesota-based microelectronics support services firm FSI International Inc. in a $252.2 million cash deal aimed at increasing TEL's market position in the surface preparation industry, according to a joint statement released Monday.

As a leading provider of cleaning and surface preparation equipment for the semiconductor and flat-panel display industries, FSI will complement TEL's business and allow it to expand its range of services as surface preparation becomes ever more critical to semiconductor manufacturing, the company said. ...
