Energy Group Urges FERC To Rethink Utility Regulations

Law360, Washington (August 14, 2012, 4:54 PM EDT) -- An energy trade group told the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Monday that its regulations for smaller combined heat and power generation utilities have become outdated and discriminatory, and pushed the agency to revamp them.

The U.S. Clean Heat & Power Association made its recommendations as part of FERC's comment period on a proposed rulemaking to update its small generator interconnection rules and procedures, and said the commission should reconsider some of its requirements for the utilities as they may favor solar resources over natural gas...
